229 days ago Forecast was 30-40 SW so went down early to Mortimer Bay with Steve to try for a 1hr and NM and possibly distance. Looked great when we got there (solid 20 knots), but became really patchy. I rigged the 6.5 Code Red on the iSonic 94 and started a 1hr, but the wind kept dropping out, so went in and got my W49 speed board and thought I'd stay in the shallows and give that a go (only been wet once during a 5 minute session). Board felt great with a 26cm Venom and seemed to handle the 6.5 OK. Idea was to try for NM's. The bay is only 1.1 NM wide, so had to try to get going quickly and finish right at the other end to achieve one. Had what I thought were two OK runs, so did Steve, but mine just weren't long enough and had stops at either end making them less than 20 knots!!
As it turned out, my best NM was the first one out on the 94L as I headed over to the other side of the bay.
